Located in Rowville, South East Melbourne, Loaded Barrel is family-owned and proudly independent.
A project of passion from Head Distiller and owner, Bob Wilhelm.
2018 was the year that Loaded barrel was conceived, a distillery that was independent and family run. The goal was to create a family legacy, but more importantly, damn good whisky and gin - the stuff you dream of drinking as you watch your clock slowly tick down to 5pm on a weekday. With a small team of 3 staff, every bottle of spirit gets the time and attention it deserves. Loaded Barrel prides themselves on creating spirits that reinvent tradition.
This 2.5hr tasting experience is perfect for whisky lovers, the whisky curious and fanatics, alike.
Guests will receive a Loaded Barrel cocktail on arrival and sample 5 whiskies from the Laoded Barrel Range, each paired with specially selected food items from Arcadia’s menu.

Virgin American Oak and Sherry Single Malt
Decadent, Delicious…Dangerously good. A whisky that can’t be ignored and designed to change your taste perceptions - while still tasting like great whisky.
Paired with: Mushroom and truffle arancini
Whisky 2
Blood Orange Seasoned Oak Single Malt
This dangerously drinkable Small Batch Whisky exemplifies innovative craftsmanship, spotlighting our light and fruity new-make spirit. This allows the intricate flavors of our unique mash bill to shine brilliantly, all while remaining true to our signature Australian whisky style.
Paired with: Pate on foccaccia
Whisky 3
Spanish Oloroso Single Malt
This Small Batch Series release could be our best yet. Our new make spirit, made from 100% Australian malted barley, is light and fruity coming off our tall copper pot still which allows this whisky to take on the intense, residual flavours that have been left behind in this extremely old barrel.
Paired with: Cured Meats and Lavosh

Virgin American Oak & Ex Bourbon Rye
A whisky that doesn’t play by the rules. Crafted from a mash bill of malted rye, malted barley and wheat, this small batch release balances spice, sweetness and structure in all the right ways.
Paired with: Smoked salmon on cucumber
Whisky 5
Virgin American Oak Wheat
A wonderful wheat best enjoyed neat (or on ice). This lovely double-malt drop is the first of our new Small Batch Series, and one of our favourites with its contrast of deep virgin-oak driven flavour and the fruitiness of our wheat malt.
Paired with: Filipino chicken
As a bonus, we’ll also be pouring a delicious Butterscotch Whisky Liquor at the end paired with a mini creme brulee.
